KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — A competition to recycle wooden pallets into usable items is underway in Kalamazoo.
Pallet Palooza will be putting up $2000 in prize money to the artists, inventors and craftsmen who make best use of the materials in a pallet and repurpose it. There will be first- and second-place winners picked by popular vote in the categories of furniture, art and decor, signs and functional.
A three-judge panel will pick honorable mentions and an overall grand prize winner.
Each entrant will get a shirt and the first 50 will receieve a free pallet. Proceeds will benefit Goodwill Industries in Kalamazoo.
