QUINCY, MI (WTVB) – Quincy Police, the Branch County Sheriff’s Department, Michigan State Police and the FBI were all involved in the investigation Tuesday afternoon of a robbery at Century Bank and Trust’s branch in Quincy.
The robbery was reported to Branch County Central Dispatch at 3:23 p.m. In a statement issued by the bank, an unarmed individual robbed the bank of an undisclosed amount of money. There were four employees in the bank at the time and they were praised by Century Bank officials for handling a very stressful situation with what was called amazing professionalism.
Quincy Police say there were two patrons in the bank. They say the suspect walked into the bank and demanded money. No injuries were reported.
Only drive through service is available at the Quincy branch today as police are conducting a follow up investigation.
Branch County Sheriff’s Department Undersheriff Keith Eichler says there were two suspects involved. A Sheriff’s Department K-9 was brought in to help with the search.
Quincy Police say there have been no arrests but they are looking at some people of interest. They would neither confirm or deny if Tuesday’s robbery is linked to a number of other area robberies over the last few months.
