MARSHALL, MI (WTVB) – As a precaution, Marshall Public Schools, including the Shamrock Center will be closed on Thursday after Calhoun County authorities say a parent found photos of two subjects with firearms making threats towards Marshall High School and students. They say at this point there is no ongoing threat to the Marshall Public School system.
The parent who discovered the pictures notified the high school principal who immediately contacted the Marshall Police Department.
Marshall Police were able to identify the suspects with assistance from the high school staff.
The Calhoun County Major Crimes Task Force found the two at their homes and took them into custody without incident.
Charges are pending for making a terrorist threat and using internet or telecommunication to commit a crime.
The Calhoun County Major Task Force is comprised of members of the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office, Michigan State Police, Marshall Police Department, Emmett Township Department of Public Safety, Albion Police Department, and the Calhoun County Prosecutor’s Office.
