MARSHALL, MI (WKZO-AM) — Schools in Marshall are closed Thursday as a precaution after threats were made online against students at Marshall High School.
Officials opted to close the district, even though the two subjects who were photographed with guns making the threats have been identified by the Calhoun County Major Crimes Task Force and taken into custody.
A concerned parent apparently came across the picture on Wednesday and contacted authorities. At this point, they say there’s no ongoing threat against Marshall Public Schools.
Despite that determination, the schools and the Shamrock Center will all be closed.
The suspects are being charged with making a terrorist threat and using the internet to commit a crime, but additional information hasn’t been released.
