DECATUR TOWNSHIP (WKZO-AM) — Van Buren County Sheriff’s deputies are looking for a hit-and-run driver who left the scene of a one-vehicle crash that left him banged up and bleeding.
The suspect left a big piece of evidence behind, his wrecked 2006 Chevrolet Impala. It was found in a ditch along 40th Street south of 76th Avenue in Decatur Township at about 4 p.m. Tuesday.
Investigators believe the driver crossed the center line, went into the ditch, hit a driveway, went airborne and rolled. The driver, who is described as a taller man with face lacerations and possibly other injuries, was seen leaving the area on foot.
No other description was offered.
