GENEVA TOWNSHIP (WKZO-AM) — A suspected drunk from South Haven is behind bars for allegedly using his vehicle to ram another driver multiple times at 55 mph on County Road 384 in Geneva Township.
Van Buren County Sheriff’s deputies say the 54-year-old man, who has a prior for driving while under the influence of alcohol, struck the car near County Road 681 and County Road 687 before he crashed into a ditch near 68th Street after 8 p.m. Thursday.
The targeted vehicle suffered between $3,000 and $5,000 damage, but the victim, a 21-year-old from South Haven, was not hurt.
Investigators aren’t sure what triggered the incident. The case has been closed, per a press release.
The suspect was arrested for felonious assault with a motor vehicle and drunk driving.
