PORTAGE (WKZO-AM) — Police in Portage had forensic teams working the scene of a stabbing Thursday on Cora Drive for two days, gathering evidence that will identify the attacker and lead to an arrest and conviction.
Detectives say the person who stabbed the 43-year-old Portage woman in her home remains at large, but they are saying little else.
Family members have identified the victim as Victoria Enos, who had taken out a personal protection order against her husband after an occurrence of domestic violence in March. He was arrested soon after in Benton Harbor for violating the terms of his bond on that charge, but it’s not clear if it’s connected to the stabbing.
Family members said he was in rehab at the time of the stabbing and accounted for.
The victim, who was admitted to the Bronson Methodist Hospital in critical condition, has since improved and has been interviewed by detectives.
For now, it remains under investigation.
