PORTAGE (WKZO-AM) — Portage police say a 48-year-old from Battle Creek was peddling a bike across Sotuh Westnedge Avenue at Garden Lane just before 4 p.m. Monday when he was struck by a Portage man in a pickup.
The driver was turning off Garden Lane onto southbound Westnedge when he struck the cyclist, who was transported to Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo. He is expected to be alright.
The crash remains under investigation.
June’s bicycle tragedy involved a Battle Creek man in a Pick-up striking nine members of a bike club.
Just recently, four cyclists were struck by a hit and run driver in a pick-up in Alamo Township, injuring two. They are still looking for that driver.
