DETROIT (WKZO-AM) — Ex-convict DeAngelo Davis has been formally charged with the murder of Richland native and Wayne State University police officer Collin Rose.
The judge read off the charges including first-degree murder and murder of a police officer, asking him if understood the charges and that conviction would mean life without parole.
The judge entered a not guilty plea and denied bond.
Davis was taken into custody Tuesday night after Rose was found by another officer with a gunshot wound to the head. He underwent surgery but died Wednesday afternoon.
Rose was a 29-year-old graduate of Gull Lake High who was scheduled to get his Master’s Degree and get married next year.
Davis will be back in court on December 9th.
