COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Three women from Hillsdale were arraigned Tuesday in Branch County District Court after they allegedly shoplifted over $1,700 worth of items from a pair of Coldwater stores Thanksgiving night.
50-year-old Tamera Lynn Karpanai, 35-year-old Tabitha Anne Bennett and 30-year-old Shanda Michelle Lane are being held in the Branch County Jail following a Coldwater Police Department investigation.
They are all facing five charges including 1st Degree Retail Fraud, disorderly conduct and Organized Retail Crime.
Court documents indicate three juvenile girls were with them at the time.
Authorities say $1,250 worth of items were allegedly taken from the Meijer store. The three suspects are also accused of allegedly taking almost $500 worth of items from Wal-Mart.
Bond for Lane and Bennett was set at $150,000 while Karpanai’s bond is $250,000. Her bond is higher because of her past criminal history.
