BATTLE CREEK (WKZO-AM) — Police in Battle Creek have jailed a reckless driver after he crashed into two trees and a house porch in the Washington Heights area.
Officers say the suspect’s Chrysler sedan was seen speeding and running stop signs just prior to the wreck, which happened after 11 p.m. near Oneita Street and Parkway Avenue.
The suspect, who was on felony probation, was arrested on a list of charges after failing to flee the scene on foot. He was charged with driving on a suspended license, reckless driving, leaving the scene of a injury accident and resisting arrest.
He suffered minor injuries in the wreck. He was booked into the Calhoun County Jail after he was treated by an ambulance.
