COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A pair of suspects charged in connection with the March 29, 2016 robbery of the Century Bank and Trust branch in Quincy were bound over to Branch County Circuit Court on Tuesday after probable cause was found in both cases.
Preliminary exams took place in Branch County District Court for John Thomas Morgan and Nikole Collins. Morgan has entered not guilty pleas to three counts of bank robbery, three counts of unarmed robbery and one count of conspiracy to commit bank robbery. His bond remains at $1 million. An attempt to reduce it last week during a probable cause hearing was denied by Judge Brent Weigle.
Branch County prosecutors have filed additional charges against Collins. She is now facing the same seven charges that have been filed against Morgan. Her $500,000 bond was also continued.
Morgan and Collins are both scheduled to appear in Branch County Circuit Court on September 19th. Morgan’s hearing will be a pre-trial conference while Collins will be arraigned since new charges have been filed against her. Trial dates have not been scheduled yet.
Quincy Police, the Branch County Sheriff’s Department, Indiana State Police and the FBI were all involved in the investigation of the robbery.
The Quincy robbery was part of a series of area hold ups earlier this year. Although Morgan and Collins were mentioned as possible suspects in other hold ups, no charges have been filed.
