PAW PAW (WKZO-AM) — It was exactly a year ago this week that the decaying body of Kimberly Bogseth was found in the woods about two blocks from her home near Paw Paw in Van Buren County.
Pathologists believe she was the victim of someone wielding a hammer.
On Thursday, there was revealing testimony from her secret lover who organized the search for her body after he became concerned about her absence. That was a day after Brent Bogseth filed divorce papers, charging his 31-year-old wife with abandoning him and their children.
Bogseth is not only charged with the murder of his wife but with trying to frame neighbor Larry Brink for the crime.
Her purse was found in Brink’s yard.
Brink admitted on the stand that he was having an affair with Kimberly Bogseth and that he denied the romance to the suspect when confronted.
He also tearfully testified about the smell and the scene when he found her body.
The defense calls the evidence circumstantial and the emotional testimony open to interpretation.
The trial is expected to go to the jury sometime next week.
