STURGIS, MI (WTVB) – Spring is here and that means it’s construction season. There are a couple of major projects outside of Branch County that drivers should be aware of.
The Michigan Department of Transportation says there will be intermittent single-lane closures on M-66 north of Sturgis starting Wednesday, April 12 for electrical work between Featherstone Road and Wait Road. The work is scheduled to be completed by Friday, April 21, 2017.
M-DOT also says they will be rebuilding more than one-third of a mile of M-99 in Albion starting next Monday. The $4.3 million project will convert the road from four to three lanes.
The project will be done in two phases. Phase one is between Ash Street and Michigan Avenue with work going on until mid September.
Phase two is from Michigan Avenue to Vine Street and is scheduled to start September 18 and be open to traffic by November 3, 2017.
Detours will be in effect throughout the entire project.
