KALAMAZOO (WKZO AM/FM) — Suspected mass murderer Jason Dalton’s lawyer will be in court for a pre-trial hearing Thursday morning to argue that some of the statements that the Cooper Township man made to detectives after his arrest should be suppressed.
Prosecutor Jeff Getting says they have filed a brief arguing why they should be permitted and submitted during the trial.
Judge Alexander Lipsey will hear legal arguments today.
Dalton is the Uber Driver who was arrested after he allegedly shot eight people in three different locations, killing six of them and maiming two women in February last year.
Dalton reportedly told detectives several stories, including one claiming that the same Uber App that was telling him where to pick-up passengers had been taken over by a demon and was telling him who to shoot.
Judge Lipsey may or may not rule on the motions today.
