KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM/FM) — The former director of a Calhoun County agency tasked with helping people with developmental and intellectual disabilities has been charged with embezzlement.
Prosecutors allege 39-year-old Kimberly Hommerding used the Arc of Calhoun County’s credit cards for personal spending between 2006 and 2015.
The Battle Creek Enquirer reports she was charged last Thursday for embezzling between $1,000 and $20,000 from the non-profit, but prosecutors say that does not account for spending beyond a six-year statute of limitations.
Hommerding, her mother and her boyfriend, who all held positions at the Arc, were placed on leave for undisclosed reasons two years ago.
If convicted, Hommerding could spend up to a decade in prison.
