JONESVILLE, MI (WTVB) – A Jerome man died over the weekend from injuries he suffered late Friday night when his motorcycle collided with a deer in Hillsdale County.
The Hillsdale Daily News reports 54-year-old John McCormack died after being taken to Henry Ford Allegiance in Jackson.
The accident happened at about 11:30 p.m. Friday night on Moscow Road near Strubel Road.
Michigan State Police say McCormack tried to brake for the deer but he struck the animal and was thrown from his motorcycle.
Troopers say he was not wearing a helmet and was found lying in the road when they arrived. The accident is still under investigation.
