KALAMAZOO (WKZO AM/FM) — About 450 people turned out for a hastily called afternoon rally in Kalamazoo Sunday afternoon to protest the events in Charlottesville over the weekend.
Three died and many others were injured when White Supremacists clashed with counter demonstrators in Virginia.
Local organizers had to use a picnic table as a soapbox and a bull horn because a band was setting up on the Rotary Stage for the weekly Sunday concert in Bronson Park.
Organizer Jen Strebs with ProKazoo said what happened was a tragedy.
State Representative Jon Hoadley said 2017 has been a strange one so far….
There were rallies, vigils and marches in Kalamazoo, Grand Rapids, St. Joseph and making the same points held in towns all over the U.S. over the weekend.
