EMMETT TOWNSHIP (WKZO AM/FM)– They will be patching and painting over a bullet hole at the Sherwin-Williams Paint store on B-Drive North in Emmett Township after a weekend robbery.
A man wearing a ski mask and carrying a handgun rushed the place at about 9:20 am Saturday and demanded money from the two store employees.
To demonstrate he was serious and in a hurry, the robber fired a single round into the ceiling.
He escaped with a wad of cash. Neither of the clerks was harmed.
Michigan State Police and Battle Creek police deployed two tracking dogs but the robber must have had a getaway car nearby, because they lost the scent.
No description of the gunman has been released.
