CONSTANTINE, MI (WTVB) – A 29-year-old man from Constantine was taken into custody by the Michigan State Police Saturday afternoon at the Mill Creek County Park after residents in the area had reported suspicious activity.
With increased patrols in the area, troopers say they saw a suspicious vehicle and three persons at the park.
The man who was arrested was accompanied by two women who were not taken into custody.
Troopers say the male suspect was found to have two warrants for his arrest. They later found a bag in the back seat that contained a 14 inch hunting knife, over 50 Schedule IV prescription grade tablets and methamphetamine paraphernalia.
The male was arrested and lodged at the St. Joseph County jail for drug and weapon charges as well as the outstanding warrants. His identity is being withheld pending an arraignment in St. Joseph County District Court.
