COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A Bronson man who is accused of leading police on a high speed chase through three counties Sunday was ordered held on a $250,000 bond as he was formally arraigned Monday in Branch County District Court. 43-year-old Scott Allen Calloway is facing three counts of assault with a deadly weapon as well as a charge of third degree fleeing from a police officer.
A probable cause hearing was scheduled for January 17th with a preliminary exam set for January 24, 2017.
Calloway is accused of leading police on a chase which started in Angola. The pursuit went through Fremont with speeds reaching as high as 75 miles an hour. Branch County Undersheriff Keith Eichler said Calloway tried to avoid three sets of stop sticks and drove at Deputy’s on foot.
The chase ended in a field off of Southern Road near the Branch-Hillsdale County line.
