MARSHALL, MI (WTVB) – What started as a violent domestic dispute near Marshall on Monday evening turned into a drug bust.
Deputies with the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Department and Marshall Police were called to a home in the 13000 block of Michigan Avenue in Marshall Township on a report of a physical domestic situation involving a baseball bat.
While investigating the alleged assault, deputies say they uncovered controlled substances in the home. They got a search warrant and then found what was called an illegal marijuana grow, several pounds of processed marijuana, prescription pills and several firearms.
The Sheriffs Department says they will seek warrants from the Calhoun County Prosecutors office for various drug and weapons offenses along with the original domestic assault.
