JONESVILLE, Mi (WTVB) – An Allen woman was killed and two other peple were injured Monday afternoon in a three vehicle chain reaction crash in Hillsdale County.
The Hillsdale County Sheriff’s Department says it happened at about 2:15 p.m. on U.S. 12 just east of Halfmoon Lake Road.
Deputies report 48-year-old Zeljko Radjenovic of Sterling Heights was operating a semi-tractor trailer traveling eastbound on U.S. 12 when he crested a hill and collided with a SUV driven by 50-year-old Roger Dale Jermeay of Jonesville trying to turn left into a private drive.
Jermeay was pushed into the westbound lane of oncoming traffic where he struck a Chevy Blazer driven by 56-year-old Roy Russel Signor of Allen.
Signor’s vehicle went off the road and overturned.
Jermeay was taken to Allegiance Hospital in Jackson.
Signor and a passenger, 44-year-old Cathleen Laverne Signor of Allen, were flown to University of Michigan Hospital. Cathleen Signor later passed away at the hospital.
The accident remains under investigation. Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the crash.
