ANTWERP TOWNSHIP (WKZO-AM/FM) — Sheriff’s deputies in Van Buren County are investigating after a stolen horse trailer was found being pulled by a pickup on Sunday.
The trailer was reported stolen from a residence in Antwerp Township before 5 p.m. While dispatchers were broadcasting the call for service, the vehicle pulling the trailer was spotted and pulled over by a sheriff’s deputy near Paw Paw. The trailer, according to a press release, had an improperly-secured license plate and wasn’t secured properly.
The victim confirmed the trailer was hers after reviewing a photo that was sent from the scene in Paw Paw.
The trailer was returned undamaged to the owner within 30 minutes of being reported stolen to police.
After the investigation is complete, a report will be sent to the Van Buren County Prosecutor’s Office.
