QUINCY TOWNSHIP, MI (WTVB) – Two people were injured and taken to the hospital Thursday afternoon following a crash in Branch County’s Quincy Township involving a pickup truck and an SUV. The collision occurred around 1:20 p.m. Thursday on US 12 at Boone Road east of Quincy.
Michigan State Police say an eastbound pickup truck towing a farm wagon was on the shoulder of the highway being following by another pickup on the shoulder with its hazard lights flashing. The first truck turned left onto Boone Road and State Police say the second pickup then attempted to make the turn but pulled into the path of the SUV, also headed east, and was struck broadside.
The driver of the Ford Ranger pickup was identified as 20-year old Michael Boger of Coldwater, who was cited for not wearing his seatbelt. The second driver of the car is a 43-year old man from Macomb County. He and Boger were transported to the Community Health Center of Branch County, where they were treated and released.
The Quincy Fire Department was dispatched to the accident while also on scene assisting was the Quincy Village Police Department.
