COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Michigan Governor Rick Snyder and U.S. Senator Debbie Stabenow are expected to be among the dignitaries on hand Saturday morning when the Clemens Food Group holds its Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting event at its new plant north of Coldwater.
Other state and local dignitaries are expected to be among the 1,500 people who will attend the invitation only event.
It comes almost two years after the groundbreaking was held for the $250 million pork processing facility. The project was announced in December 2014.
The facility will provide over 800 new jobs for the area and generate $255.7 million in total capital investment.
Clemens Food Group is headquartered in Hatfield, Pennsylvania.
The 550,000 square foot facility will be located in the northeast portion of Coldwater Township on land bordered by Jonesville Road, Newton Road and I-69. It will be capable of processing 10,000 hogs daily.
