COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – National Weather Service forecasters say Old Man Winter is going to make up for lost time Monday with the possibility of three to five inches of snow. After a mostly snowless winter, a Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for southwest Michigan, northern Indiana and northwest Ohio starting at various times on Monday morning. It will be in effect until early Tuesday.
The advisory for Branch and St. Joseph Counties will be from 8:00 a.m. Monday until 5:00 a.m. Tuesday, while the advisory for Calhoun County will start at midnight Sunday and go until Tuesday morning at 8:00 a.m.
Forecasters say snow will overspread northern Indiana and southern Lower Michigan late Sunday night into early Monday morning, and will continue through Monday evening before diminishing. Snow accumulations of 3 to 5 inches are expected. Roads will become snow covered and slick. The Monday morning and evening commutes will likely be affected.
A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means that periods of snow will cause primarily travel difficulties. Be prepared for snow covered roads and limited visibilities.
