ALBION (WKZO AM/FM) — An Albion man who reportedly roughed up 24-year-old Andrew Bolton over a debt on the day before Thanksgiving, has now been ordered to stand trial for open murder.
Police say 29-year old Maurice Berry got a little too rough and caused a head injury that would prove fatal.
Police initially thought that Bolton was suffering a drug overdose and learned later that he had suffered a head trauma.
Five days later he was pronounced dead at a Kalamazoo Hospital.
Berry, who was initially charged with assault has now been charged with open murder and is being held without bond in the Calhoun County Jail.
