BANGOR (WKZO -AM/FM) — Despite several conflicting stories, a Bangor teen has been bound over for trial for the drug related shooting death of Eddie “E.J.” Holland of Hartford.
Police say the two met at Lion’s Park in Bangor on February 3rd, because Holland wanted to purchase marijuana from 19-year-old Thurmond Fletcher Jr.
The two argued and got into a struggle. Fletcher was shot in the leg and the 28-year-old Holland was shot and killed.
Fletcher initially told doctors that he was wounded hunting squirrels. He later told police it was self-defense. An inmate at the Van Buren County Jail claims that Thurmond told him two different stories about what happened.
There were allegations that Holland had used counterfeit money during a previous buy and that Fletcher was angry with him.
The Judge ruled there is enough evidence to bind Fletcher over for trial on open murder and gun felony charges.
Fletcher is being held without bond.
