KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM/FM) — A 27-year-old man has been given probation after he was caught on surveillance camera stealing a Salvation Army kettle from a Kalamazoo restaurant.
A judge handed the two-year sentence down to Kelly Tutt on Monday with 53 days credit for time served at the Kalamazoo County Jail. Tutt was also ordered to pay back the $52 that was inside the kettle he swiped off the counter at Michelle’s on Dec. 27, in addition to just under a $1,000 in other costs.
The Kalamazoo man admitted to grabbing the item and walking from the diner in February.
Tutt is currently serving an unrelated six-month jail term.
