BATTLE CREEK (WKZO-AM/FM) — A man is jailed for attempted murder and other charges after police say he beat, choked and held his ex-girlfriend against her will at her residence in Battle Creek.
Police also claim the suspect set the woman’s phone on fire so she couldn’t call 911.
They made contact with the victim at around 1:30 a.m. Thursday after she ran out and flagged down help.
She was taken to Bronson Battle Creek Hospital with facial fractures and was last reported in stable condition.
The suspect was taken into custody without incident. He was booked into jail on charges of attempted murder, kidnapping and interfering with a 911 call.
