HILLSDALE, MI (WTVB) – One of the two suspects charged in the death of 37-year-old Jeremy Alan Barron of Camden entered into a plea bargain with prosecutors Tuesday in Hillsdale County Circuit Court.
Court officials say 27-year-old Ashley Diane Hoath of Hillsdale entered a guilty plea to a charge of second degree murder.
In exchange for her plea, two other charges against Hoath will be dismissed by prosecutors. Her sentencing was scheduled for January 29, 2018.
A trial date for co-defendant Jay Scott Clark of Bryan, Ohio has not been scheduled yet.
Clark was ordered to serve between 22 months and 20 years in prison on Monday in an unrelated case. He was convicted by a Hillsdale County Circuit Court jury in September of carrying a concealed weapon and possession of methamphetamine.
Authorities say Barron was shot to death somewhere in Hillsdale County February 8, 2017. His body was placed in a field off of Dimmers Road in Camden Township before it was discovered by some Amish children riding their horses on April 2, 2017.
