KALAMAZOO (WKZO AM/FM) — Local candidates for city races are spending the weekend going door to door to entice voters to come out Tuesday and vote for them.
Early indications suggest that turn out could be abysmally low after the city of Kalamazoo switched to staggered terms.
Only three seats are up for grabs in Portage and Kalamazoo, and there are separate mayoral races. ]
Candidate forums were poorly attendended and only a fraction of the absentee ballots that have been sent out have been returned so far.
