COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A 19-year-old Coldwater resident was sentenced Monday in Branch County Circuit Court after entering guilty pleas to charges of using a computer to commit a crime and fourth degree criminal sexual conduct.
Noah Stempien was originally arrested in August on seven charges.
Stempien was given concurrent nine month jail sentences on the two counts with credit for 95 days already served. He was also placed on probation for three years.
Stempien was also ordered to pay over $1,100 in fines and court costs.
Five other charges were dismissed by prosecutors in exchange for the guilty pleas.
Stempien was arrested following a Michigan State Police investigation into crimes that took place in Ovid Township between June 2016 and the end of last year.
Charges dismissed include third degree criminal sexual conduct with a female victim between the ages of 13 and 16, possession of sexually abusive material and possession of marijuana.
