KALAMAZOO (WKZO AM/FM) — We are going to be hearing a lot about medical marijuana for the next few months.
The City of Kalamazoo pushed back their plans for approving a Medical Marijuana Ordinance last month. Kalamazoo Township will revisit the issue Monday night, but Township officials say say it could be a month or two before they could rezone land for such operations, best case scenario. ]
Now the city of Portage is delaying a committee of the whole meeting on the issue from November 14th to December 19th.
They are all blaming State Licensing agencies for taking so long to issue emergency rules for the industry. Lansing is now saying it may be next summer before they are ready to issue the permanent rules.
Those state agencies will hold a regional forum on Medical Marijuana at Wings Event Center Tuesday morning.
