BATTLE CREEK (WKZO AM/FM) — Battle Creek has a new mayor after the Battle Creek City Commission, fresh off last week’s election , held their annual organizational meeting Tuesday night.
While most communities let the voters pick the Mayor; that right is reserved for commissioners in the Cereal City.
Mark Behnke, who has served as Mayor before, was once again chosen over incumbent mayor Dave Walters on a 5 to 4 vote.
He will chair meetings and sign documents for the next year.
Walters was elected to be Vice-Mayor.
