QUINCY, MI (WTVB) – The Quincy Community Schools Board of Education approved a settlement agreement with Business Manager Cheryl Globke Monday night.
Interim Superintendent Martin Chard says the agreement calls for Globke to be on paid administrative leave until August 31, 2018, at which time her employment with the school district will end.
Chard said Bill Childs will serve as the Interim Business Manager for the rest of this school year and the district will advertise for a new Business Manager in February or March.
He added part of the agreement calls for Globke to not pursue litigation against the district.
Chard said both sides felt it was in the best interest of both the district and Globke that they should enter into the agreement.
Globke was one of three Quincy administrators who were caught up in a controversy surrounding criminal sexual conduct charges that were filed against former teacher Jason Ferrell.
Felony public money safekeeping cases against former Superintendent Criag Artist and Globke were filed after Branch County authorities claimed Ferrell got paid after he resigned as IT Director last January. Prosecutors decided to drop the cases following a preliminary exam in the Artist case when testimony indicated Ferrell’s services were needed for three weeks after he resigned.
Artist and high school principal David Spalding are still facing Child Abuse-Failure to Report misdemeanors. They are both scheduled to appear for pre trial conferences in Branch County District Court December 5, 2017.
