EMMETT TOWNSHIP (WKZO AM/FM) — A Battle Creek Woman will wake up this morning in the Calhoun County Jail after she went shopping with her child thanksgiving evening.
Emmett Township police were notified by other customers that the three year old had been left in the car at the Harper Village District. They located the vehicle and found the doors locked, but were able to get the child out without any injuries.
After about an hour the mother of the child returned to the vehicle and was arrested and booked into the Calhoun County Corrections Center on a child abuse charge.
Child Protective Services was called and placed the child with other family members, while they investigate.
