DETROIT (WKZO AM/FM) — A vigil was held for Wayne State University Police Sergeant Collin Rose on the one-year anniversary of his on-duty murder this week.
The Richland native was fondly remembered by many as an officer who was as good with people as with the K-9 dogs he trained for service.
A dog park that will open in March a few blocks from the murder scene will be named for Sergeant Rose.
The suspect in his death was arrested after allegedly wounding two Detroit police officers with a gun in April, but has so far been found mentally incompetent to stand trial.
