BATTLE CREEK (WKZO AM/FM) — The City of Battle Creek will be taking public comment for the rest of this month on whether they should allow medical marijuana dispensaries and other associated businesses.
They also want to know from residents if they do allow the businesses, how they should be regulated and where they should be located.
Every town in Michigan will be going through some kind of process over the next few months as the state is scheduled to begin accepting applications for growing, processing, safety compliance facility (testing), transporting, and provisioning centers in mid-December.

They also have a survey they would like you to fill out.
Staff will be gathering input through the end of October.
One of the requirements for receiving a license is local approval.
KALAMAZOO (WKZO AM/FM) — The State Licensing agency plans five educational forums on the new Medical Marijuana law. The only one in southwest Michigan will be held on November 14th at the Wings Event Center in Kalamazoo from 9am to noon.
Interested parties have until November 1st to register.
