CALHOUN COUNTY (WKZO AM/FM) –A Kalamazoo County man will stand trial for causing the alcohol related death of a very special retired Air Force General last May.
Police say that 48-year-old Stephen Landers was in a 1965 red Ford Mustang that peeled out of a drive-way along M-37 in Bedford Township, temporarily went out of control and struck Linda McTague as she was riding her motorcycle with a group of other women on Harleys.
McTague was the first female Brigadier General to command a fighter squadron, among other firsts. When she retired, she became a founding member of the Talons Out Honor Flight.
After a Monday preliminary hearing, Calhoun County Judge Frank Line has ordered Landers to stand trial for driving while intoxicated causing death, a 15-year-felony.
