BATTLE CREEK, MI (WTVB) – Two suspects are in the Calhoun County Jail after the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Department discovered several thousand dollars worth of stolen property in a home near Battle Creek.
Sheriff’s deputies were acting on a tip Tuesday when they searched a home on Beadle Lake Road north of B Drive in Emmett Township.
Officials say they found a large amount of laptops, gift cards, generators and prescription medication along with several pounds of marijuana and meth.
Deputies say the home owner was stealing electricity as they also found wire and braided cable from Consumers Energy substations.
It is not yet known what the two people who were arrested will be charged with.
