HARTFORD (WKZO AM/FM) — A man with a definite fascination for fire has been arrested and charged with arson for setting over half a dozen fires in Van Buren and Berrien County.
40-year-old Kyle Norden used to be a firefighter in Hartford, and was once arrested for impersonating a firefighter.
A tip led Van Buren County Detectives to Norden after they were alerted by fire chiefs that there had been a series of similar fires, all in abandoned homes or outbuildings in the region.
Norden was brought in and confessed to seven fires, five in Van Buren County and two in Berrien County.
He has been charged with six counts of arson and is being held on $100,000 bond.
