HASTINGS (WKZO AM/FM) — A Barry County woman charged with a hit and run fatality has copped a plea rather than take her chances with a jury.
Kelleigh Hobbs agreed to the plea in exchange for having a drug charge and a moving violation charge dropped.
She is charged with striking 40-year-old Carla Reiffer from behind, as she rode a bike north of Middleville on Whitneyville Road in June. Reiffer died from her injuries.
They charge Hobbs left the scene. Investigators found a piece of her vehicle and used it to track her down.
She will be sentenced for leaving the scene of a fatal accident, a 15-year felony in December.
