KALAMAZOO (WKZO AM/FM) — It’s been just about 500 years since Martin Luther nailed his list of grievances to the door of the Catholic Church, that protest sparking the Protestant Church and the reformation.
A commemoration of that event in Kalamazoo won’t close that schism, but it will bring Kalamazoo Catholics and Protestants back together to share those things they still have in common.
Pastor Jeff Wenke and Bishop Paul Bradley are the event coordinators.
Bishop Bradley saying this is historic and unique. He says commemorations are being held around the country, but none of them have invited Catholics.
They hope the new found bonds will be something they can build upon after the event at Wings Event Center at 4pm Sunday.
Its free and open to the public.
