KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — The students responsible for shutting down Loy Norrix High School on Monday have been identified.
School would have been back in session Tuesday if not for a weather cancellation.
The rumors spread through Snapchat, with students claiming some sort of threat would be acted out against the school Monday.
Given the mood of the community after the Nov. 20 shooting spree that left six dead, school officials canceled classes.
Kalamazoo Public Safety and school officials have identified the students and say they will determine appropriate consequences. They also determined the threats were not credible.
There’s no word yet on the age of the students or whether they’ve been suspended, pending the outcome of the disciplinary review.
Criminal charges have not yet been mentioned.
There are indications the students may have just been repeating hallway rumors through the application.
