COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Two major agricultural production facilities in Branch County will be part of the “Back to Our Roots” RV tour for U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Perdue Tuesday.
Perdue’s four day tour will take him to Michigan, Ohio, and Kentucky, but the tour opens with breakfast with students and faculty at Michigan State University’s College of Agriculture and Natural Resources in East Lansing.
He will then take part in a working lunch at the Clemens Pork Processing Plant in Coldwater, and finally tour the Mastronardi Produce facility.
7th District Congressman Tim Walberg will be accompanying Perdue on the tour, and he says the visit will be a good showcase for Branch County.
In addition to touring the facilities, Perdue also plans to have discussions with other local agricultural leaders.
