HASTINGS (WKZO AM/FM) — The Middleville man who was shot by a State Trooper in a parking lot near Hastings on Monday has been discharged from Borgess Medical Center and transported back to Barry County to face a judge.
36-year-old Ryan Miller was arraigned on the charges that brought the trooper to the parking lot of the Thornapple Valley Church off of M-43.
He was reportedly wanted for home invasion, possession of burglary tools, failure to appear in court, and for failing to register as a sex offender.
State Police apparently got a tip where to find him and in the confrontation that followed, Miller allegedly failed to comply with the trooper’s demands to drop a weapon and was shot.
It was later determined that the weapon he had was just a realistic looking pellet gun.
No charges have been filed for that incident until the investigation is concluded.
