COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A Battle Creek man who led police on a high speed chase in February of 2017 which reached speeds as high as 135 miles an hour was sentenced Monday in Branch County Circuit Court.
32-year-old Joshua Allan Miller was placed on three years of probation and given a jail sentence of one year after he entered a guilty plea to a charge of third degree fleeing and eluding. He was given credit for 384 days already served in jail.
His Branch County sentence will run concurrent to his Calhoun County case.
At the time of the chase, Miller was being sought by Battle Creek Police after he was accused of holding an ex-girlfriend against her will for three days and nearly strangling her.
After police spotted him in Battle Creek, the chase went to the west side of Coldwater where it ended near Munson Street thanks to the deployment of stop sticks.
Miller has a prior criminal history that includes charges of home invasion, aggravated stalking and domestic violence.
