CENTREVILLE, MI (WTVB) – After being arrested 15 months ago, a former Sturgis Public Schools advanced science teacher and football coach was sentenced Friday in St. Joseph County Circuit Court.
The Sturgis Journal reports 38-year-old Keith Lang was sentenced to four days in jail and was given credit for four days already served after he entered a no contest plea to a charge of aggravated indecent exposure.
While all of the other charges were dropped in exchange for his plea, Lang had to surrender his teaching license and he will have to register as a sex offender.
Lang resigned from the Sturgis school district last June.
He was originally charged with three counts of Fourth Degree Criminal Sexual Conduct and four charges involving the possession and distribution of child abusive materials.
Lang’s actions dating back several years were investigated after authorities got a tip from another school official.
